You’re Invited! Electric Dream Expo 2017

Posted May 26, 2017

In honor of science visionary Nikola Tesla’s 161st birthday and 100th anniversary of the dismantling of his famous wireless transmitter, we are hosting a science and entertainment extravaganza:

Electric Dream Science & Innovation Expo – 2–6 pm – Tesla Science Center, 5 Randall Road, Shoreham, NY

Come explore a fascinating array of Tesla-inspired exhibits and activities for all ages:

  • Robotics and Tesla coil demos, HAM radio presentation, displays by The Museum of Interesting Things, the Long Island Radio & TV Historical Society, 3-D printer demos, Tesla cars, AC motors, lighting, x-ray, musical instruments, and more.
  • View Tesla’s Wardenclyffe laboratory, designed and built by famed architect Stanford White. This historic building, now closed for renovation, will be faithfully restored to its original condition, after serving for half a century as a photographic materials processing plant, much modified from the original. When our meticulous preservation of Tesla’s 1901 laboratory is funded and completed (please be patient!), it will emerge as Tesla’s Lab — our immersive science center, the heart of the Tesla Science Center.
  • Enjoy entertainment and a variety of food and wares with local flair, offered by vendors and businesses in the community.
  • Attend a special Presentation of Innovation in which you’ll learn the fascinating history of Tesla’s wi-fi tower, his work at the laboratory, his life and innovations — and some special surprises.

2-6 pm Science & Innovation Expo: $15 for ages 13 and over, $5 for ages 5-12, free for children under 5.

Car Discount: $25 per car covers admission to the daytime Science Innovation Expo for all passengers, and is limited to the first 50 car tickets purchased. Car discount cannot be combined with combo ticket.
